White Widow Grow Journal
As we explained on the White Widow Grow Journal page, we are using and reviewing the I Love Growing Marijuana White Widow Complete Grow Set. The kit comes with 20 feminized Cannabis seeds, all the nutrients necessary for a complete harvest, and a set of three Plant Protection formula’s designed to build vigor and prevent many of the bacterial, mold and pest problems that Cannabis growers can sometimes leave untreated.
Day 1.
The White Widow feminized seeds arrived today. Very discreet packaging, you wouldn’t guess it contained seeds, nor did it say Amsterdam or Holland anywhere. I do not want to post too much about the packaging, as discretion is paramount when posting Cannabis seeds to countries where they are deemed illegal to grow.
Suffice to say, their Stealth packaging methods are very good.
As well as the seeds i also received a PDF download containing the exact method for germination recommended by Robert Bergman and the team at I Love Growing Marijuana. I will be following their instructions to the letter, but cannot post the instructions as they are protected by copyright.
For this grow we shall only be using ten feminized White Widow seeds, the remaining ten will be saved for a later grow.
Step 1 – Germination
Following the instructions, i selected ten White Widow seeds and placed them in a small cup of water where they will stay and soak for the next twenty-four hour. This soaking process allows the harder outer husk of the seeds to soften slightly, and activates the growth of the tap root.
The following day i gathered together 10 small pots and the correct soil recommended in the instructions. I must add that i generally germinate my seeds in Coco-Coir, a neutral medium comprised of shredded coconut shells, but for the purposes of this White Widow Grow Journal, and for the benefit of those people considering purchasing the White Widow Grow Set, i am sticking totally to methods laid out in the hope of achieving a good quality harvest by doing nothing but following the instructions given, and putting aside any methods that i have used and learnt over my years of understanding Cannabis.
Once i filled the small pots with the recommended soil, i made a small, half-inch hole with the tip of my little finger and gently placed a seed into it, carefully covering the seed with loose soil before i gave it a light spray with fresh water.
The germination guide recommends using a fluorescent tube to start your plants off, with an eighteen hour light cycle, so i set up a tube and timer and carefully placed the ten filled pots under the fluorescent tube.
They will stay under this light for the next two weeks, sprayed twice a day with fresh, clean water.
